About FarOutDoors

Where it all began

Hey there, I'm Matt, founder of FarOutDoors.

I've always been an outdoors kid. I grew up in a small town where I spent all my time outside. I didn't have video games, I had a bike. I had woods to play in and a big world to discover.

That love of adventure grew over the years as I found mountain biking, camping, off-roading, trail running, and much more.

My entrepreneurial background finally led me here. I got tired of advertising for everyone else by wearing their hats and clothing, so I set out to build my own brand.

My goal:

  • Share tips & tricks for camping, the outdoors & offroading
  • Share trips worth making around Central Texas
  • Design great outdoor gear worth wearing
  • Show off my Rivian build

IF IT'S OUTDOORS, IT BELONGS WITH FAROUTDOORS.

Our mission

Bring people together

Why do something if not for the greater good? I tend to be the guy who organizes the trips and outings, so the mission wrote itself: bring people together and make everyone feel welcome outside.

I've met so many great like-minded people through social media, and I want to keep building a community of positive people who care about the outdoors — with meetups, trips, and plenty of feedback along the way.

Giving back

Leave it better

I've always wanted to build a company that gives back — whether that's donating a portion of profits, helping people, or doing trail cleanups.

We'll start small and grow into it as the brand grows. Ideas are easy; following through takes dedication and time.
